These are the real deal. A slice of both multitool and modern American history that kicked off the now globally recognized Leatherman name.
Originally designed in 1970 by Tim Leatherman and patented in 1978, it took 13 years for Leatherman to bring his Pocket Survival Tool to the public in 1983. This is the multitool that you could say started it all. Now discontinued, the original design is celebrated by Leatherman with a commemorative version that runs a few hundred dollars. With all the quality, innovative pocket tools that Leatherman makes, it’s amazing how in-demand the original, vintage PSTs are. But not surprising. Get one in your hand, and you’ll know what we mean. We love them and have a stash of our own for both collection and daily use. We search high and low to make sure we can bring them to you at a price that puts it in your pocket.
You’re purchasing an authentic, Grade A PST. Grade A means that the tool is in excellent condition with all or many of the smaller tools being “like new.” Each is constructed with knurled screws and features at least 13 different tool functions (14 if you select the Hard Wire Cutter version).
The photos should provide an idea of the visual quality that you’re getting, however, due to stock quantity, we’re unable to sort via specific years and months.
And of course, we ship same-day for free to anywhere in the U.S.
